The original boots supplied gave no support at the ankle despite the use of a leg iron and t-strap. Without the inclusion of a "cradle" to provide comfort and support, the boot collapsed outwards when worn.
The first pair supplied by The Cordwainer
The boots were built around a full cradle which was designed to lift and support the ankle whilst weight bearing. The shape of the cradle then helped in the design and appearance of the boot, an improvement on the previous boots.
Comparing the boots from the back
The view from the back shows the difference between the boot incorporating a supportive cradle and a boot which relies solely upon building the heel out to try and give support.
Comparing the boots from the front
The view from the front shoes the improvement in styling. The appearance of a boot can make a considerable difference in self confidence and the sense of well being for someone with a disability.
