Conferences
The Independent Shoemakers Conference.
Who is it for:
The Conference welcomes shoemakers from all aspects of the industry, from part time craft makers and clog makers, low cost made-to-measure companies right through to bespoke and orthopaedic specialists.
Students:
We especially encourage students and new shoemakers to join us at these events, the conference has grown from 15-20 makers in the early years up to our present 50-60 visitors annually.
Social aspect:
Equally important to the success of the conferences is the part the social aspect plays in our gatherings. Husbands, wives and partners are welcome and are free to join in or decide their own programme.
Formal dinner:
We usually meet together for a formal dinner on the Saturday evening, usually followed by entertainment. In the past we have enjoyed ceilidh dancing, folk music, quiz nights, race nights and party nights.
